Astros vs. Angels Game Preview & Pitching Analysis
Houston has struggled with the bats against the Angels’ Rodriguez. The uncertain status of Peter Lambert adds to the unpredictability of tonight’s game outcome.

Yeah, and we’re gonna have Houston and the Angels, which to me has also been a very strange series so far.

Astros got it done 3-2 last night.
Lambert versus Grayson Rodriguez tonight, and I just, where are the runs coming from?
They’re, I mean, the Astros have just stopped hitting, Craig, which is just, it’s a head-scratching to me at times with what they’ve got going on here.
And Grayson Rodriguez with a 7 ERA is not scaring anybody, but I don’t trust the Astros to take advantage.

Yeah, he’s very He, he can’t throw strikes, Joe.

Now, now he will get a lot of strikeouts from guys- Yes going outside of the zone, ’cause his stuff moves, but he has no idea where he, when he throws the ball, where it’s going.
That’s the problem.
Very big, massive bust in terms of prospects and Look, the Orioles, you know, who needed pitching, traded Grayson Rodriguez.
What does that tell you?
I would just take Houston and not even think twice about it tonight, and I think Houston will score a lot of runs tonight against the Angels as well.

I- Lambert is, is not- I can’t believe- I don’t think Lambert’s 100% healthy.
Lambert, the, Lambert, they have him in the rotation.

There was some talk he’d, due to be out for the year maybe, and then they brought him back.
And look, I, he’s not somebody I wanna count on either necessarily, but I just, I, I, I think the, I think the Angels probably are gonna ha- have to let, Rodriguez, you know, try and figure out at least for a couple- Take one innings no matter what happens, you know?
So- Yep it’s, I don’t think he’s got that w- w- first inning hook or second inning hook, and the score could be 5-1 after, like, three innings.

And so, yeah, you know, I, I, I also am not 100% in on Lambert just because of everything that’s been reported out of Houston.
Mm-hmm.
And I, and I think they’re just, like, in, in no other situation that they have to throw him right now.
But I, I, I would take the Astros tonight.
I, I definitely would not take the Angels.
Yeah, he’s actually gotten, I mean, 36 strikeouts in his last six appearances, Lambert.
So he’s, you know- He’s been good he’s averaging about six a game.
Yeah, no, he’s been okay.
No, he’s been okay.
And he- He’s been okay he’s not bad at all, but the bats of Houston have just been so inconsistent, uh- Yeah as of late here.

But this would be a good opportunity.
Now, two games, I believe, over lowly Texas in the American League West.
This would be- I mean, listen, I’m not backing Te- and deGrom, you wanna talk about hurt, deGrom is hurt.
Yeah, no, I mean- The, deGrom is- Yep not the same thing.
I would much- Agreed rather take the plus money with Washington again tonight.
But, the Astros have an opportunity, I think, with the schedule maybe to pull a couple of games and just, and really clinch the West, ’cause I don’t see anybody else catching them.

I, I, look, we can’t Seattle’s been an absolute disaster.

I, I’m still going to hold out some hope for the Rangers before the end of the season.
In maybe a head-to-head series things would change, but I do think it’s between Houston and Texas now, those two teams to win the division.
And, you know, clearly Angels are out of it.
They’re, I have nuth- nothing to say about Seattle.
Who am I men, they’re, am I missing one other team in this division that’s in it?
